Keyboard shortcuts can make a huge difference when it comes to increased productivity. These days, my trips to the menubar via mouse are rare. I depend on keyboard shortcuts to speed up my workflow.
While there are plenty of keyboard shortcut guides online, none are as elegant as the Application Keyboard Shortcut Mapper (ASMK), developed and maintained by Waldo Bronchart.
As of this writing, Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and Blender have their keyboard shortcuts listed. Though ASMK is a work in progress, it shows tremendous polish.
With ASMK, you can easily choose between keyboard shortcuts that have global context (i.e. used throughout the app) or dialog context (dependent upon the dialog window you are in). Mac, Windows, and Linux keyboard shortcuts are provided, where applicable.
ASMK is perfect for learning even complex keyboard shortcuts, like the ones where you mash down the Command, Alt, Shift keys simultaneously. One thing that would make ASMK even better, in my view, is including the ability to see a magnified view of the text listed on the key when hovering over it with the mouse.
For Photoshop alone, ASMK is worth checking out. I look forward to seeing even more apps added to the list, like Maya, Adobe After Effects and Final Cut Pro.
