Let’s face it.
Google gives pretty lousy results when it comes to finding the very best sites featuring superb, high quality desktop wallpapers.
I’m very selective when it comes to what graces my computer screens. For my displays, I favor stunning, serene nature landscapes. Each of the sites listed below offer some of the very best images that I’ve come across on my web journey.
SocWall (short for Social Wallpapering) is clean, uncluttered and easy to search site which presents wallpaper based on category, keyword and screen resolution. Social “liking” results in up or down votes, usually bringing the cream up to the top. The Nature category is particularly stunning.
FiftyFootShadows: personally curated by John Carey, this site features absolutely jaw-dropping wallpapers that are custom tailored for desktop, iPhone or iPad use.
An oldie-but-goodie, InterfaceLIFT offers the most variety in terms of screen resolution support for its downloadable wallpapers. This includes the ability to conveniently download portrait based desktop wallpapers. The number of ads on the site are a slight turn-off, but the content is solid.

September 28, 2014 at 2:34 pmAs my Air is a company asset as opposed to my personal laptop, I have my company logo wallpaper gracing the desktop. However, if it was my personal laptop, I would probably go with something showing a space scene from SocWall or a wallpaper of the Enterprise refit…lol…I’m a space junkie.
