My brush settings for Photoshop

For the last 3 years I’ve been digitally inking with Painter. Why Painter? My inking results in Photoshop were not yielding the line variations I wanted.

Now that I have a new Intuos4 tablet to play with, I decided to give Photoshop another chance. I also experimented a bit more with the brush options. Below are the settings I have found that yield good results. It’s still not quite as awesome as the Scratchboard Tool in Painter, but it’s very close.

End result: I’m now very tempted to ink a strip in Photoshop, just to see what the overall results will be.

Enjoy!

P.S. Do you want multiple Undos in Photoshop? You can remap the Cmd-Z key to “Step Backward” – which does precisely that.
