And now a word from the Obvious Department. For those to lazy to click, I’ll summarize the article: information overload impedes productivity. Honestly, did this ‘research’ really need to take place? And what are ‘Internet Writers’ and how the heck can I get their job?
Seriously.

January 4, 2008 at 9:56 amSo now that PC Weenies is a color multipanel comic, how about reverting Uncubed back to its glorious B&W stuff?
Great going though! Kudos on the new site! [:)]

January 4, 2008 at 10:07 amI was getting work done when this email arrived. Thanks for the distraction. :)
IMHO….
In general, though, I think the Weenies has lost a little crispness in moving to multi-frame format. The two strips have had… paraphrasing Salieri… “too many words”. That works in this strip to a certain extent (although you might have formatted things along the lines of Bloomberg TV, with a talking head, other news in the split screen, and a stock feed on the bottom). In general, though, I’d edit a bit. The advantage of the one-frame was limited space to make the joke… assume the same amount of space to make the joke even though it’s 3-4 frames.
Again… IMHO of course.
Now go kiss the baby and don’t worry about it!

January 4, 2008 at 10:20 amThanks for the feedback, John and Dan. Uncubed will revert to its black-n-white form in two strips (one more color strip remains). Dan, thanks for the feedback on the multi-panel format for PCW – I’ll try and tighten things up a bit in future strips – and the single panel comic will still be around – look for ’em in the coming weeks ahead.

January 4, 2008 at 5:55 pmBoy, this strip resonated with me. I haven’t been able to get anything done because of people constantly knocking on my door this week.
I thot Uncubed was fine in color. But no big deal either way: you can’t keep up the quality of what you do if you don’t experiment and innovate :)

January 4, 2008 at 8:40 pmI’d love to do Uncubed in color – it’s the time factor (or lack thereof…) that keeps it from being feasible for me… but I’d love to do more color comics in Uncubed – maybe I’ll reserve those strips for special milestones….

January 5, 2008 at 7:35 amThat was a rip-off from Nestor’s bit in The Calculus Affair, wasn’t it? Aptly ripped though! ;-)
Herge’ would have loved it!

January 5, 2008 at 9:32 pmIf I recall correctly, the Cutts the Butcher / phone-mixup was a running joke through several of the Tintin albums. But then again, it’s been awhile since I’ve re-read them. Any Tintin fans care to chime in?

January 18, 2009 at 5:25 amJust started reading today. ^5 on the Tintin reference.
Cutts the Butcher was a running joke yes, was in quite a few of the books that took place at the mansion. I need to read the books again, I already forgot what’s the name of the mansion. :(
