    So true. I’ve given up on trying to update from 8 to 8.1 because it simply won’t let me. As far as I can tell I need a newer Motherboard (which means a new CPU and RAM). A “Start” button isn’t worth £400.

    For my work computer the upgrade from 8 to 8.1 was trivially easy… No problems, in fact, just the opposite, it fixed a few annoying issues, primarily with the video driver.
