I have 2 questions: first, if Pam is a badass spy, why didn’t she just disarm the bomb? It seems safer then a makeshift rope down the side of a hotel. And second, if she was just going to tell Maude about the deception immediately after, what was the point of the “Boom” and light show?
The bomb was triggered to the door. Given the number of people in the hotel, it would have been a risky proposition to diffuse it herself with all the guests. The “Boom” and light show was simply another deception – to give Maude the idea she may have gotten away with her dirty deeds – and to give her pause – so that Pam could catch up and confront her.
