The Last PC Weenies Comic Ever*.

*Well, at least for some time. (No promises.)

I just need a break. It’s been a great run, and I hope you’ve enjoyed reading my comics. A few factors over the last few months have precipitated this decision – one which I didn’t make lightly:

1) I want to focus more efforts on my illustration.

2) The audience for the strip has reached a plateau that has been consistent for the past two years. It’s frustrating, and I know I could have done more to promote the strip, but in the end, there’s really nobody to blame but myself. I take full responsibility for this.

3) 13 years is pretty long for anything. I’m happy with what I’ve been able to accomplish, which is a body of work that spans well over a decade.

4) I want to make digital collected editions of my work to date and offer them up for sale.

The time I spend on making the comic could be better spent on other income-generating areas, and right now I have to do what’s best for my family.

At some point, I’ll resume the current storyline – but again – priorities of life are kicking in. I know that some of you might be upset at what on the surface seems like an abrupt decision. I hope you understand.

In the meantime, why not check out my new Tumblr site, where I’ll be posting ALL the early PC Weenies toons from 1998 all the way up to 2007. So one way or another, you’ll be seeing more PC Weenies stuff.

Thanks for your support,

-Krishna

Wow, shocked and saddened at the announcement but I respect your decision. Will keep an eye on that tumbler thingie that all the cool kids use lately.

Wow Krishna! I hope everything turns around for you – but like you said – you have to do what’s best for your family. Hopefully this is a minor/temporary set back for you.

    Best of luck!

Sad, but understandable. Family first, brutha! 13 years! Good lord…that’s longer than The Far Side and Bloom County made it! Can’t complain! Hopefully, you’ll get everything in order and come back with a splash.

    AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
(Martin, on hearing the news that PC Weenies is on hiatus).

I’ll accept your decision. It’s right.
I’ll survive the withdrawal symptoms. I’ll HAVE to.
    I’ll wait (not-so-patiently) for its return…It WILL.

Thanks for all you’ve done…and will do!

    – M.

    P.S.: Pam…don’t hurt him TOO Much, O.K.?

NO!!! SAY IT AIN’T SO!!! My favorite web comic going away?

Completely understand the need to prioritize, though. Hopefully we’ll see a revival in the not too distant future. But, if not, at least I have some prints and an awesome PC Weenies book to look at in the meantime.

    Hi Krishna,
I know how you feel, when debts are piling up and leaves you nothing to do but work, work harder, work MORE without seeing any improvement.
My wishes are with you and your family

    Krishna,

Wow! Certainly a surprise, but understandable — family first, as others have said!

I wish you the best, and look forward to the eventual return of PC Weenies.

    Best of Luck!

    Best of luck, bud.

reeVVEEENGE…wait that’s not it…oh yeah it’s noooOOOOO! Don’t want to see my favorite comic leave the confines of my cubicle but I completely understand. It’s a sad day for us all. I hope for the best in the hard times your are experiencing. Just know that they will come to pass just like everything else and it will all workout in the end. Cheers my friend.

Almost did the same thing myself earlier this year, so of course I understand. You’re a terrific talent, Krishna, and I’m sorry to see PC Weenies shuffle off, but you’re right–it’s a terrific body of work. You should be very proud. You absolutely deserve a break and more. Good luck with what comes next and paying those bills!

Krishna I wish you well in your future endeavors and hope one day to see PCWeenies new again. I hope things turn around for you financially and quickly, I know how frustrating and scary it can be when facing financial headaches with a family. Thank you so much for bring Bob and the gang to us, it has been extremely enjoyable and fun. I look forward to seeing your future work. Good luck with everything my friend.

The wave of support is overwhelming. Thank you everyone. It means a lot to know that you’ve enjoyed the comics.

This was the single most toughest (and heart-breaking) decision I’ve had to take. But there really was no other option.

I hear ya, Krishna. I often debate whether or not to take an extended hiatus myself.. after 4 years and nowhere near what I had wished for. 12 years, now that’s just amazing to me. It’s been a great ride, glad I was able to jump aboard for the last few years. Best wishes on wherever your ride takes you now, and take care of that wee one!

Wow….yes it is a surprise, though you have given us a few hints with a few short stints where you had to take a break the past couple of years….

I do understand the “curve balls” that live throws at you from time to time, and how they can make changes in your life…..

I hope you and your family do well no matter what way the winds take you.

I absolutely love this webcomic and I agree about the audience thing.

I understand your reasons and it is in my sincerest hope that you will be much more successful soon enough. You are a talented person.

Can I have all of your readers until you come back? :) I understand and hope you’ll be back soon. It is a lot of hard work to produce your toon. I hope it all works out sooner than later. At least this time off will give you some time to think about future story lines. Good luck Krishna! Goodbye Bob and Pam, you will be missed.

In a Darth Vader voice: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

You’ve built an enormous body of sequential art work over the last 13 years, Krishna; you should be proud of an incredible accomplishment well done!

The very best of luck with the new endeavors. :-)

Tell me what you think!
