Interruptions, due to notifications and application updates, are the bane of my existence. One of the biggest offenders is Microsoft Office. Upon launching the app with the intent on doing some actual work, I am first interrupted by a swatch of patches and bug fixes. Running these takes between a minute or two – but it temporarily causes me to lose momentum when I have a task I really need to complete. A better solution would be to have the notification appear AFTER I’ve started working – when the machine appears to be idle. Why isn’t this happening yet? What are your biggest IT pet peeves?

February 9, 2017 at 8:10 amMicrosoft seems to have infected my Mac with the need to reboot for some update exactly in the middle of my most creative moments – whether for Adobe CC updates, Office bugs/updates or because some Exchange server wants to misbehave :(
Even my pup has learned to wait – why not MS?
