Tanked Up

This particular comic strip went through a few variations on panel 3. Here’s one of the early versions:

6_18_08_alt_a

Followed by a later attempt:

6_18_08_alt_b

I ended up scrapping both versions because I felt that the visuals in panel 3 weren’t adding to the dialogue. I spent many many days rethinking both the dialogue and visuals and I believe I’m happy with the final version that’s posted.

Update: Fixed the spelling for ‘jager’ and also fixed Bob’s “broken foot” on panel 3. Thanks to everyone who wrote in to let me know.

I couldn’t really get a good look of the two alternate images because they are on your private Flickr page. Any hope that you will put them in a public section?

Great comic today though. Bob drunk is really funny.

Funny stuff! I like the version you settled on. I feel like I’m really getting to know these characters now.

I agree with moo. These recent story arcs have really shown us (me anyways) a lot about who Bob and Pam are. Great stuff!

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I was treading very cautiously with the recent storylines, not sure whether people would go for them or not… I’m very glad to hear that folks are enjoying ’em! :)

Actually I’m surprised Bob said Linux install fest. I figured he would say Leopard or something like that. He must really be drunk.

    Ooo neat trick.

Open the two alternate strips in two separate tabs side by side and then click between the two to see the differences. It causes a really cool effect.
