Security Issues

The PCW T-shirt campaign has closed. Even though we didn’t make the goal, Teespring.com is fulfilling orders for everyone who wanted one. To those of you who preordered a shirt, thank you for your support!

As I approach the 16th year anniversary of the strip (which happens in two weeks), I’ve been reflecting on the PC Weenies as a whole, and whether or not I should continue making the comic after the current storyline winds up.

I’ve gone through this thought process before, but I’m not sure if I can shake it off this time around. While there is a vocal audience for the comic, the matter-of-fact truth is that PC Weenies doesn’t have a large enough readership to sustain it anymore.

I’m not sure exactly what happened. Perhaps readers are turned off by the serialized storytelling. Perhaps people have moved on from my brand of tech humor. Perhaps there’s just too much great stuff on the Internet competing for readership and audience attention. I don’t really know.

But I do know this:

Part of me loves the strip and hates to see it end, and another part of me looks forward to taking on something new. Anyway, that’s all for now. See you next week.

    Hey Krishna…
What plug-in are you using for your newsletter sign-up on your site? I’m thinking about adding one to my site but I’d like to hear your thoughts on it first. Have you seen a lot of conversion? Been reading a few articles about newsletter pop-up boxes lately and the trend seems to be that although some people might find them ignoring, they actually DO work.
So I was just wondering if that has been the case with you.

      hey Chris:

I’m using App Sumo’s plugins. I’m getting good results from it.

I’m an avid reader for the past 4 years and I have backread everything before reading the latest issue at that time. You have my support (and I think for the rest of the PCW fans as well) no matter what your decision is about continuing PCWeenies or not. =)

Do let us know if you open up something new. =)

Where are you promoting the comic? I’ve only seen it listed at Comicsbyemail.com, where I discovered it.

I’m not actively promoting it outside of Comic Chameleon.

Tell me what you think!
