Feed Me

There comes a point in time where a person decides there is simply too much information and news to keep up with. For me, that was about 3 years ago. I had about 150 RSS feeds on my list, and getting through them on a nightly basis was starting to feel like work.

Instead of RSS, I now use Flipboard on my iPad, which presents me with a curated list of excellent sites (I can add my own) and displays the content in the form of a magazine-like experience. Twitter is also another curated method by which I get my news and interesting article fix.

What about you? Do you still use RSS feeds? How many feeds do you keep up with?

I have no problem with RSS feeds. It’s Twitter and Facebook and Google+ and other feeds I struggle with. I’m now resorting to passing-by browsing. I’ll read and respond to entries I see while passing by, like overheard conversations while going through a room, but not worry about everything I might be missing. On the feeds I regularly read fully, if I miss a few days, I’ll only try to catch up on the last 24 hours because that’s all that’s relevant any more.

Tell me what you think!
