It should come as no surprise now that the NSA can spy on smart phone data. After reading the article this evening, I had only one niggling thought – captured in Bob’s punchline in the strip above.
PC Weenies T-shirts are making their way to readers across the US, and photos are already being posted on Facebook and Instagram from the folks who have already received theirs. From the sound of it, it’s a smash hit!
If you missed out on this inaugural PCW T-shirt crowd-funding effort, I plan to make a new PC Weenies T-shirt design for next year. My heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported this project.

September 9, 2013 at 3:05 amBlackberries are kind of a technicality. RIM/Blackberry is a Canadian company, so the force NSA can exert on them is limited. You do have to have a proper BES and configuration to avoid spying though.
And BlackBerrys still have a following. Like the Apple Fanbois during The Great Decline.

September 9, 2013 at 1:29 pmI bought one of the t-shirts. Awesome, but then my wife saw the wrapper and said, “Oh, Anthony Weiner?”
“Yes, Honey, I bought a t-shirt populated with a pervert politician!!”

September 9, 2013 at 4:07 pmSo based on what the article is saying, they can’t actually access the phones directly, but have to compromise the computer first, and from there can get at the phone data (from backups – or with the phone connected)
