We just buy cheap printers on slickdeals, and then buy either off-brand toner, or we buy new printers every time the toner runs out. 20 dollars a pop, either way!
I’ve tried off-brand toners for the previous Brother printer I owned. It damaged my then 7 year old printer, forcing me to buy a new one. I wound up buying an XL toner.
Haha, Tass Times in Tonetown! I loved that game. In fact, I think I still have the disk for my Apple IIGS somewhere in the basement… Might have to get that up and running this weekend. ;)
Of course, the toner that comes with the printers is usually 1/2 or less of a standard cartridge. Buy the XL’s and you get 4x or more the toner. (I’ve gone more than a year on the last XL I purchased, was about 4 months on the one that came with the printer)
Good cartoon. Obsolesence is built into everthing!
There’s a great documentary on it on You Tube, called
‘The Light Bulb Conspiracy’
Great work Krishna.

August 23, 2013 at 2:24 amHey, I have a guide for that game! I’ve never actually played the game, though.

August 23, 2013 at 9:39 amI played the game on my Uncle’s IIGS years ago. It was pretty fun, as I recall. Alas, I never finished the game…

August 23, 2013 at 2:59 amIt’s the same thing with ink printers the ink costs more than the finest champagne per litre

August 23, 2013 at 8:21 amYeah, but I found out the hard way; don’t try to fill your inkjet printer with champagne – it gets REALLY messy!! ;-)

August 23, 2013 at 9:10 amDon’t fill your champagne bottles with ink either.
