Monday’s guest-star, Louis Brazil, loved his guest-star appearance so much, that he decided to surprise his daughter Zoe with a special birthday guest-star comic. For the theme, Louis wrote:
My daughter Zoe’s 11th birthday is February 13th.
…Something very tech related for my daughter. Like most kids, she’s pretty savvy about technology and get’s the benefits of my working in the industry. She got her first iMac the day they shipping in August 1998 (she was 1 1/2) and has been going strong every since. Maybe something along the lines of how advanced she is even teachers seem to turn to her for help.
Happy Birthday, Zoe!

February 13, 2008 at 8:26 amHeh heh. Speaking as someone who’s trained her former teachers in technology use, I’ll just add an “Amen!” to the above comic. (My favorite my was former 3rd grade teacher trying to go ahead and getting so lost it was funny.) I’ll admit that I was a teacher at the time I was doing this (but hadn’t been teaching for too many years, and I teach chem & phys, not computers. I’m just a big ol’ geek.)

March 13, 2009 at 7:45 amPretty soon we won’t even need the instructors for many subjects. Universities are already phasing out math dept manhours and replacing them with online programs.
I guess that’s just one of the ironies of information technology.
