The last Friday in July is SysAdmin Appreciation Day, so I wanted to do my part to spread the love in advance.
If you’re a systems administrator – Thank You for all that you do! You not only have to manage the network and the computers people use day in and day out, but you also have to withstand the abuse… whether the technology is at fault or not.
If you’re an employee at an organization that has a dedicated IT department, take a few moments to let your I.T. guys and gals know that you appreciate their hard work and efforts!
And if you’re a sys admin, take a few moments to share this comic with your co-workers to remind them to prepare the celebration!:)

July 18, 2012 at 2:49 pmHere we are fast approaching the 13th annual Sys Admin appreciation day. I’ve been a system administrator for 14 years, and out of the 13 years that this has been going on I’ve never once had anyone recognize this day. Heck, I find that as a sys admin you have to prepare yourself going in that the only interaction your going to get with the end users is their complaints. I can actually count on one hand (and that’s after the hand has been put through a skill saw having 4 digits removed) the number of times someone has said “I appreciate what you do for us.” which is very sad, but expected.
So this Sys Admin day I’ll spend it like the rest keeping the users and the network safe and running smooth, and allow them to feel like things just magically happen, cause at the end of the day that’s what I signed up for, to be the protector of the network and the data. In our own little way we are the super heroes that never get seen.
So thank you Krishna for your continued support of all things IT and for your time in the trenches along with the rest of us.
