Printing Issues

This is yet another true story from my days in I.T. Maybe you can relate?

Incidentally, we lost power at our home for several hours last night so the best I can do (for now) is to share the pencils for today’s strip. Inks and colors will happen this afternoon.

Enjoy!

P.S. Inks and colors now up!

Another printer related story – about 15 years ago we were planning to get a photocopier in our office to save us from having to walk to the far end of the site to use the one in the main office. Before we got the copier we had a new printer delivered. Someone came into the office and put his document on the printer feed tray and pressed the big round button. He was a bit disappointed when, instead of getting a copy he got his original back with the ‘test page’ printed over the top of it. Unfortunately that was the only copy of the document in existence.

    True Story:
In the early 1990s, we added support for color to our desktop publishing software. Only 8 spot colors or something, but when your world is B&W, that’s a major increase. Our tech support had all sorts of adventures with it, including one guy they went round and round with because his document with colored text in it would not print in color.

You probably see where this is going.

Eventually, they asked him a really simple question: “Do you have a color printer?”

Tell me what you think!
