Making Manga Studio Pro Work More Like Photoshop

If you’re familiar with Photoshop, getting used to Manga Studio Pro’s interface can be somewhat daunting. The poorly crafted manual that’s included with the software doesn’t help much either, but I digress…

To make things a bit easier on myself when using MSP, I’ve taken the liberty of customizing a few keyboard shortcuts in MSP to match what I use in Photoshop. You can do this via the File > Shortcut menu. (shown below)

When selected, this dialog box appears:

Here are a few keyboard shortcuts I’ve assigned within Manga Studio Pro, with a few keyboard shortcuts deliberately assigned to better mimic Photoshop:

File > Import/Image File (Command+I)
Layer > New Layer (Shift+Command+N)
Duplicate Layer (Command+J)
Change Layer Type (Command+Opt+E)
File > Export Image File (in Pixels) (Command+Shift+S)
Brush Pen (B)
Export as PSD (Command+Control+S)

Perhaps a few of these keyboard shortcuts will help others who are new and struggling with Manga Studio Pro’s interface.
