The new Dell 3008WFP is the only one that has similar inputs to the 2407WFP. I would have to see them in person someplace before I paid $1300 for a display.
I’ve had the opportunity to use two outta three the apple and the dell. Although the apple “corr-dinates” well with other apple devices (and yes my whole house is applefied) I’d probably lean towards the dell as well because of functionality. I actually have a 24″ gateway, that’s about equal to the dell and seems to be cool!
I’ll definitely look at the Dell. What impresses me most about Dell and Samsung are their 3-year warranties vs Apple’s measly one year warranty. Dell even will replace a monitor with one dead pixel, at least based on what their website says.
I would choose the Samsung. I own 2 samsung monitors. I wouldn’t get Dell. I think the Samsung looks the best as far as crispness and quality out of others I’ve seen.
I’ve seen the Samsung 24″ displays and you’re right Jim – they look mighty crisp and sharp – probably , in part, due to its glossy display. I wonder if the 30″ Samsung display is matte or glossy?
