If you’re reading this, my presumption (bold as it may be) is that you read and enjoy webcomics. The beauty of this medium is that are so many choices. By and large, the comics you read are provided to you for free – and stick to some type of consistent update schedule.
The artists, for the most part, love what they do and enjoy sharing their work with an audience. While the “big guns” in webcomics will no doubt move plenty of product and merch, consider extending your support to the little guys and gals in webcomics this holiday season. There are plenty of “well known unknown” folks who produce great work day in and day out, but receive very little recognition for their stellar efforts.
I am not trying to be self-serving in the least (the support I have received from readers over the years has been generous and I am incredibly grateful).
I’m writing this blog post because I’m genuinely serious about promoting the comics medium as a whole. There are plenty of excellent comics out there that deserve your attention and support. If you enjoy an artist’s work, drop ’em an email, post a comment on their latest comic, or better yet – buy a book or sketch they’re selling. Every bit of support encourages these artists.
I can’t speak for all cartoonists, but I can say that, for me, every email exchange, every comment posted on my site, and every purchase that’s placed (whether its for a PC Weenies Guest-Star appearance or an order for my book), means a LOT!
It’s a struggle to produce comics week in and week out, but I love what I do – and that’s why I do it. I’m sure many other creators feel the same way.
Supporting the underdogs in webcomics is a good thing. The next time you’ve devoured 3 hours worth of comic archives, take a few moments and see how you can show your support for the cartoonist’s work.
I guarantee you’ll make the artist’s day.

November 29, 2010 at 12:15 pmWell said Krishna. I appreciate all you and the other webcomic community does with your talents. Webcomics like you said are not cookie cutter in any regards, and definitely cover such a broad spectrum of likes for any reader. Yours in particular is always so funny and engaging, not only from an IT perspective, but from a day to day life perspective with the dynamics you build in between your characters. Keep up the good work sir.

November 29, 2010 at 4:17 pmOne of my favorite things to spend money on is webcomics merchandise. I love the books most of all, but have some stuffed toys and a few other odds & ends from webcomic artists. They make my life a little happier each day, so I’m always happy when I can return a little of the favor.
So with that in mind, thanks Krishna for your fun comics!
