I’m selling Aarti’s 2006 Macbook Pro, with 2.16GHz processor, 100GB hard drive, and 2GB of RAM. We bought the machine new in 2006. I’m selling it because I’m using the funds towards purchasing a Wacom Cintiq.
A few obligatory photos:
The machine is fully functional. The exterior case is clean and intact. The DVD drive works fine. The ports The machine comes installed with a virgin copy of Snow Leopard.
There are some issues with it that you should be aware of:
1) In my testing, the left Command key and the left Shift key do not seem to work. All the alpha keys work fine as do the shift, control, command, and option keys on the right hand side of the keyboard.
2) the hinge to clasp the laptop is broken, preventing the laptop from fully closing (see 2nd photo above).
3) the hinge holding the display has a bit of play (not loose, but it doesn’t have much resistance when you open or close the display).
4) the battery needs to be replaced.
That said, I believe the machine has a lot of life still left in it. It would make a perfect secondary machine or you could cannibalize its parts for a Mac-inspired project.
I have the original box to pack it in as well as the power adaptor that came with the unit. I can ship this to anywhere in the world, but the buyer will be responsible for all value added taxes, shipping and insurance costs. If the item is bought within the US, the buyer will be responsible for shipping and insurance charges.
To sweeten the pot, I’ll also include a copy of my book “Rebootus Maximus”, autographed with a sketch of your favorite PC Weenies character inside.
So…
If you are interested in buying this unit, please drop me a line with a reasonable offer.
Thanks,
-Krishna
