Time is On My Side

Quintessential Bob here, folks. Enjoy!

-Krishna

Yes, I tweaked the last panel with a different punchline (my first version, actually). It’s a webcomic – I can do that. :)

    “Quintessential Bob here” – what, you mean his technical skills arne’t quite at the level he thought they were? (No picture!)

    Now, there’s irony, and then there’s irony!! :-)

    Oops. It was late, and I uploaded the comic to the wrong server. ;) All fixed now.

    A friend of mine rebuilt with an SSD recently, just after I moved over to Win7. The next time he popped over, he timed my startup so he could check how much faster his was :)

    Hey Krishna very entertaining strip today but I do have one concern. The last panel I am assuming they are talking boot times, but based on the order of ideas presented in the previous panel it gives me the feeling that they are talking about time spent together. Ways around this include putting a qualifier in Pam’s question ie. ‘Is that boot time in seconds or milliseconds’ or reordering the seconds, milliseconds and nanoseconds reverse to what they are now.
    Cheers,

      I think the ambiguity was intentional and even if not, it adds to the humour immensely. :D

      hi Aaron – thanks for sharing your concern. I see where you’re coming from. I’ve tweaked Bob’s dialog in panel 3 to hopefully make it more clear.

    Personal opinion here, obviously, but I actually preferred the first punchline it was posted with. I don’t really feel like Bob’s expression in the fourth panel matches the obtuseness of what he says in the new punchline. The “nanosecond” line makes it sound like he’s totally oblivious to the sarcasm in Pam’s question, which as I said, doesn’t seem to match his expression.

    Just a personal view, no offense intended. ^^;;

    I have to tell you that I really appreciate how you make it clear that Pam (i.e. wife of a geek) knows what exactly what an SSD drive is. A little thing perhaps but appreciated none the less

Tell me what you think!
