Strip 754 revamp

This comic will appear in the Winter issue of The BENT magazine, Tau Beta Pi’s long-running engineering publication. Rather than just send them the original single panel ‘toon, I went back and redrew it. This comic originally ran on the site back in 2005.

Before:

Here’s the same comic 5 years later.

After:

I enjoyed the process of updating my old artwork. I may do this for a few of my favorite single panel ‘toons.

Wow… great to see the style evolution!
Use of the outlines, and change of elements in the framing… very nice.

I can see that your staging has improved, as has your character posing.

Did you explore different viewing angles, Krishna, or did you go with your gut feeling?

I went with my gut feeling on the revamped version. In the old version, there was no depth – the characters were in the mid-ground, and the dead guy was in the background. By putting the scientist guy in the extreme foreground, I felt the composition was better balanced.

Tell me what you think!
