Experiments in Audio: Questions from a Newb

I’d like to be able to record short audio responses in lieu of a blog post from time to time, and I have a few questions on how to do that.

I have GarageBand to record audio, along with a Snowball microphone. Is there something that’s equivalent to AudioBoo for desktops, that will allow me to publish audio to a WordPress site? Ideally, it would allow me to have a player embedded into the blog post, where readers can listen.

I’m new at the audio game, so any advice you have would be kindly appreciated. Also, what type of microphone input would you recommend for a 2nd generation iPod Touch (for AudioBoos)? Thanks!

Try the audio player WordPress plugin (http://www.1pixelout.net/code/audio-player-wordpress-plugin/). Once you have the MP3 file, you can just use a shortcode to put the player in.

Thanks, Dan! I’ll check out the plug-in you’ve suggested. Sounds like it’s exactly what I need.

Another good thing, if you’d like to podcast your audio blurbs, is podpress. You can find it here: http://www.podpress.org/

As I tweeted you already about this.

Basic/Default iPhone headset (with the mic and all) work just fine with iPod Touch too. That’s what I use anyways. I think it’s the most cost-effective way to do it.

For recording audio I mainly use AudioMemos for recording longer audiofiles.

I use AudioBoo to do these short audio blurps for the fun of others and iPod Touchs’ default voice recording for something really default and basic :)

I don’t know where it uploads but new Twittelator Pro has function to record audio too http://www.blogherald.com/2009/06/24/iphone-twittelator-pro-makes-tweet-casting-possible-audio-and-video-now-included/ check that out

    I hope that helps
