Snow Leopard makes its debut today, and what better way to celebrate than by having Bob go on a tipsy rant. Snow Leopard represents a pretty good value – at least it does to me. I ordered the family pack from Amazon, and I’m expecting it to arrive next week. I hope you enjoy this out-of-continuity strip!
Mac users, are you getting Snow Leopard this weekend? Windows users, are you looking forward to Windows 7?
Update: If you installed Snow Leopard, how’d it go?

P.S. Special thanks to Hawk from AppleGeeks for linking to PC Weenies and UNcubed. I was very surprised that he reads my comics (and likes ’em!). Hawk is an incredible illustrator, and his work on AppleGeeks proves it. Go check it out!

August 28, 2009 at 12:12 amI will be getting it. Who knows, it might even fix Opera (which is the most crash happy program I have on my mac, hands down!)
As for windows 7, I’m running it on my netbook. Very impressive improvments. Very real battery life extentions, and good speeds even on a very low power laptop.

August 28, 2009 at 12:19 amI already have both OS X 10.6 and Windows 7 on pre-order. Can’t wait to get either of them! I am totally set and stoked for the upcoming shoot out!
Although, I bet both of them will get equal time :P I kinda like Windows 7, even though I have been a mac uses most of my life. Just would be interesting to see how they play together on my desktop :P

August 28, 2009 at 1:40 amYup, I hope to get Snow Leopard soon – might check the stores this week-end if I get a chance (although maybe there’ll be a delay here in Australia).
Also, it’s because of Hawk’s like that I ended up here and then checked out uncubed. Added it to my RSS feed list and so now tuning in. ;)

August 28, 2009 at 5:11 amI’m sticking with 10.4 for now– gotta love those Classic programs!

August 28, 2009 at 5:49 amwhich classic programs do you use, Bartimaeus?

August 28, 2009 at 6:40 amAll the old games – The Fool’s Errand, 3 in Three, Swoop, Caesar III… I’m gradually weaning myself off of them, but it’ll take a while (that is, if I don’t get the urge to play The Fool’s Errand again.)

August 28, 2009 at 8:06 amI’ve got 10.6 on pre-order too – just recently switched to Mac about a month ago. Just enough time to get used to things and then wipe the system clean and start fresh before it becomes too much of a hassle, heheh.

August 28, 2009 at 5:05 pmI’m actually looking forward to Winders 7. Been running RC1 in dual boot with my main Ubuntu partition and it’s been a nice version of Windows. So I’ll be getting it when it comes out.

August 28, 2009 at 5:09 pmI’ve been running Snow Leopard for a week now. Wiped my HD clean and reinstalled from a tiem machine backup. Its lovely, I havent run into any crashed or problems, the os seems more responsive and agile than leopard. And the computer runs quieter. Also the load on the cores is more balanced.
Now I’m waiting for programs deisgned for Snow Leopard.
Best Regards

August 28, 2009 at 6:00 pmI figured you’d touch on this. I have one of those ancient non-intel G5’s running Tiger (*gasp*!), and from what I’ve seen (maybe I’m wrong?) I cannot update. Phooey, and finally an affordable price!

August 28, 2009 at 9:41 pmI’m unsure as of now. I use iMovie a lot, and it doesn’t seem to come with the upgrade the way it came with Leopard. I’ve already paid for iWork, so the “upgrade” package would be a waste of money for me.

August 29, 2009 at 11:17 amI want to get Snow Leopard when I can, but it’s hard here, it might be months of calling the nearby Apple dealer and being told “no, we don’t have it” even if they have a shelf full of them, since that’s the way workers are here in India… On the other hand, the shopping center where their store is has been closed for a couple of weeks due to swine flu…

January 14, 2010 at 9:30 pmI am absolutely NOT looking forward to Windows 7. Simpler is almost always better. Windows 7 is just an attempt to hoodwink consumers into thinking that just because it’s a new can, it’s not the same sh*t inside of it.
