The Encore Keyboard: A Glimpse Into Design Process

As a designer, I am always fascinated by process. Bringing an idea to fruition takes a lot of planning, iteration, and determination. Design is all about managing trade-offs and constraints, factors that take on a whole new resonance when manufacturing is concerned.

YouTuber Matthew Encina brings us along on his journey in designing the Encore Keyboard, as part of collaboration with Mode Designs.

The Encore Keyboard takes its inspiration from keyboards of the past, albeit with an attractive, yet minimalist design sensibility. You don’t need to be a mechanical keyboard enthusiast or a designer to appreciate the amount of time, attention and effort Encina has put forth in bringing his idea and vision into reality.
