Reviving a Pair of Sony MDR-7506 Headphones
My Sony MDR-7506 headphones have some history. They were purchased new for a sound design class that I took (over 20 years ago) and have been in regular use from that point forward.
Suffice to say, these venerable headphones have plenty of “ear mileage”. As with most products we own and use, there will always be wear and tear. Over the past few years, I would notice black flecks and specks on my face and clothes, a clear sign that the earpads were deteriorating.

Installation was trivial. I simply removed the old ear pads and gently worked the new earpads over each housing. The new earpads make my MDR-7506’s look brand new again!
