While computer make-overs aren’t really a thing, the quickest and cheapest way to give your system a new look is to spruce up your display with a snazzy new desktop wallpaper. I’m pretty selective when it comes to desktop wallpaper, only the very best high resolution, HD quality images will do for my setup. Below are four of my favorite desktop wallpaper sites.
Unsplash: In my opinion, this is the grand daddy of all desktop wallpaper sites. Beautiful, high quality photos by some of the best photographers in the world. There’s a wealth of sizes to choose from: portrait, landscape, square, etc. Be prepared to burn a lot of time here.
A Solid Base: In addition to offering desktop wallpapers, this site also offers images that are formatted for tablets and smartphones. Users can search by style or colors. Bonus: Users can see what the wallpapers will look like on a simulated device screen before deciding to download.
Wallhalla: An equally stunning set of desktop wallpapers can be found here. Wallhalla’s categories extend well beyond photography, offering countless desktop wallpapers based on fantasy art, 3D renders, video games, celebrities and much, much more. For sheer variety, Wallhalla beats all others.
Fifty Foot Shadows: Comprised of stunning nature and city landscapes, with a dollop of beautiful object photography, Fifty Foot Shadows offers plenty of gorgeous images that will add serenity and peace to your desktop destination. My favorite is “Object No. 16”. (The desktop above was downloaded from Fifty Foot shadows.)
