We just got word that a new company is taking over our on campus cafeteria and fountain drinks are going to be free. I don’t drink a ton of soda anymore, but free fountain drinks might get me started back up again.
Flexible schedule. I have to stick to my approved office hours, and of course to to class, but if I need to leave early one day, I just make up the other hours on another day and no one cares.
The best perk, though, is I’m one of two people in my department trained on Sim Man: a computerized medical manikin used for training doctors and nurses. He’s very realistic and responds to the care the students give me. If they really screw up, I can make Sim Man die. Bwhahahahahahah!
First of all the comic was great. I felt like that trying to get into Cartoon… (that place is awesome!) So (for now… I’ll be back Cartoon) I work at GA Tech in the I.T. department and we get to use the latest tech stuff… We all just got the new MBP’s 17″ in two days ago. I think testing and using the equipment is cool and free education (geared towards you profession). Later Krish!
As a teacher, there’s not a lot of free perks. Although I can install Office2003 for free on my home PC as part of our school license, I prefer to use OpenOffice.org. Heh. However, I have free access to the Tech Books collection at Books 24/7 which is quite helpful.
I work at a cinema and so I can sit in on all the Movies. Also yester day we discovered that all the Fanta in the drinks chiller was out of date and so I went home with a half dozen bottles of Fanta under my arms.
Like one of the posters from above, my office has a really flexible work schedule, as long as I get my hours in there is no really hard and fast schedule. Plus, since I am in IT, I get access top all sorts of cool tech gadgets :-)
My software office here in India offers free, fast weight loss, via the hot drink machines maintained by the office boys who don’t wash their hands between using the bathrooms and filling the machines with coffee, tea and super-sweetened milk powder…
Other entertaining perks are the elevators with the lights that stop and start frequently and turn dark like a horror movie when the power goes out multiple times a day. It’s even more like a horror movie when someone’s in it who gets scared and screams…

March 5, 2009 at 4:56 pmLOL, oh to work at a place like google. I actually have a friend that does. We all hate him, out of pure jealously.
Perks at a snack food company? free soft pretzels, and lots of ’em. Carb-tastic!
