Effective January 1st, 2008, guest-stars who sign up to make an appearance will have their avatar appear on this page. Plug your podcast, website, surprise a loved one, or just bask in the inner glow of knowing that your guest-star appearance is etched into the very fabric of the PCW universe. A new Featured Guest-Stars page for 2009 has been created. Will you be next?
Victor Cajiao: known as the popular host of the Typical Mac User Podcast, Victor commissioned me for a guest-star appearance spotlighting his coverage at Macworld Expo 2008.
Paul Studiman: Paul’s an avid photographer who also happens to be a major indie-rock fan. I focused on the photography aspect for his guest-star appearance, but threw in a Death-Cab-for-Cutie reference on his sweatshirt in panel 3. Paul made his guest-star debut on Feb 4, 2008.
Louis Brazil: As a long-time PC Weenies reader, Louis challenged me to come up with a ‘toon that combined his interests in drumming and the Macintosh computer. Louis made his guest-star debut on Feb 11, 2008.
Zoe Brazil: To commemorate Zoe’s 11th birthday, her dad Louis commissioned me to put Zoe into her very own PCW comic – with a theme showcasing her fluency with technology. Zoe made her guest-star debut on Feb 13, 2008.
Tracy Brazil: Louis Brazil also commissioned me to draw his wife Tracy, as part of a special Valentine’s Day / Birthday themed PCW comic. Tracy made her guest-star debut on Feb 14, 2008.
Harold Bright: I.T folks get no love or respect at work – and that was the theme his wife Hollie asked me to focus on for Harold’s guest-star appearance. Harold made his guest-star debut on February 20, 2008.
Karl and Marv: Karl and Marv are both big technology fans, and Karl sponsored this comic to commemorate his former college roommate / work colleague through a comic. Karl and Marv both appeared in the February 25, 2008 strip.
Andrew Robert Smith: Andrew is an IT guy who challenged me to come up with a cartoon that expressed his frustration with integrating Mac OS X boxes into the Novell environment. Andrew appeared in the February 27, 2008 installment.
Barry Thelen: A few of Barry’s colleagues decided to surprise him with his very own guest-star comic to commemorate his birthday, February 29th. Since this date occurs once every 4 years, that would make Barry’s “official” age 13, and that was the central theme behind his guest-star appearance.
Keith Golden: The techincal lead behind Google’s “My Maps” was featured in his very own comic, to commemorate his birthday, courtesy of his wife Ellen Spertus. Keith appeared in the March 14, 2008 installment.
Ellen Spertus: Ellen’s a computer science professor at Mills University and a research scientist at Google. She’s also married to guest star Keith Golden. One of the themes Ellen suggested (women in technology) really appealed to me, so I incorporated it into her comic. Ellen appeared in the March 17, 2008 installment.
Jason Reed: A mild-mannered programmer/geek by day and medieval costumed warrior on the weekends – Jason was immortalized in his very own PCW toon on the April 11, 2008 installment.
George Brazil: To commemorate George’s 40th birthday, Louis Brazil commissioned me to create a guest-star comic for his big brother. George appeared on the April 20th, 2008 installment.
Will Schmied: Will’s guest-star comic was a wedding anniversary surprise, purchased by his wife Allison. The theme of the comic was based on Will’s career as an MS sys-admin. Will appeared on the May 4th, 2008 installment.
Brent: Tammy Yap purchased a guest-star appearance for her husband Brent, who’s a designer on the very popular Call of Duty 4. While Brent loves playing the game, the juvenile chatter by other players would make him wince. This created a picture in my mind that I used for the basis of his comic. Brent appeared on the May 27th, 2008 installment.
Gauri Shah and Mayur Datar: Gauri wanted to surprise her husband Mayur with a guest-star ‘toon to commemorate their wedding anniversary. Both Gauri and Mayur work within Google in areas related to Search and I customized their comic to fit that theme. Gauri and Mayur are the second couple from Google who’ve sponsored a guest-star ‘toon. Their comic appeared on May 28, 2008.
Jill Huchital and Mike Kelley: What’s the perfect gift to celebrate 15 years of marriage? A PC Weenies Guest-Star appearance, of course! Jill sent along some information on how she would woo her husband to be and I fashioned that into the comic you now see. (Okay, I’m no poet.) :) Jill and Mike’s guest-star comic appeared on May 30, 2008.
Frank Smadja: Yoelle Maarek surprised her husband Frank with his very own guest-star toon, which was directly inspired by one of his blog posts. Frank appeared on the June 4th, 2008 installment.
Robert Crittenden: This particular comic was commissioned by PCW reader Robert’s sister Theala Sildorian for a belated-birthday gift / Father’s Day surprise. Robert thrives on programming and views it as a big puzzle to solve, and that’s the angle I chose to work into his guest-star ‘toon. Robert appeared on the June 15th, 2008 installment.
Chris Jefferson: Commissioned by his fiancee Karen Petrie as a suprise birthday gift, Chris finds himself alongside Grampa discussing his program Minion, of which he is a lead developer on. Chris appeared on the June 20th, 2008� installment.
Tanya Joy de Marco: our first super-model received her guest-star appearance, courtesy of her boyfriend Piero Timpano, who incidentally, was one of the very first people to appear as a guest-star back in 2007. Tanya appeared in the August 18th, 2008 installment.
Clemens Gerlach: How do you make a 30th birthday memorable? You purchase a guest-star appearance for your friend. That�s how. Clemens makes his guest-star appearance, courtesy of his good friend Sebastian Krajenski. Clemens appeared in the August 28th, 2008 installment.
John Tesar: Philip “Frumph” Hofer commissioned this ‘toon featuring John, who’s currently in the midst of recovering from his recent cancer operation. John’s guest-star appearance appeared in the September 26th, 2008 installment.

Jennifer Rosenberg: Long time PCW reader Dan Greenberg commissioned me to feature his wife Jennifer in her own PCW ‘toon, which appeared on November 19, 2008.
Jillian Russo: Our youngest PC Weenies guest-star ever! Jillian turned 1 year old on December 1st, and her father Tim wanted to celebrate the occasion by commissioning her very own PCW ‘toon.
