It’s been said that a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind. While I certainly won’t win any awards for minimalism in my current desk setup, I do like to keep my cable clutter to a somewhat manageable level.
One way I’ve reduced cable clutter on my desk is my investing in a magnetic wireless charger. There’s a bit of a misnomer when it comes to these devices; wireless chargers will often have at least one USB wire that supplies power to the charger. I’m OK with that, given that I can use one cable to charge three devices, instead of 3 separate cables.
If you go on Amazon, there are a number of magnetic wireless chargers to choose from. My selection was based on the charger meeting four important criteria:
After some careful research, I ordered the Woruda 3-in-1 Magnetic Wireless Charger. I chose it because it fit my criteria and was reasonably priced (I paid $30US). Included in the box are the charger stand, a quick start guide and a USB-C cable with an 18W power adapter.
My first impression of the charging unit was a good one. The Woruda device certainly felt very solid and well built. It has enough mass to stay put on my desk, and has a clean look to it. I opted to plug the USB-C cable into a powered USB hub, instead of using the supplied power adapter. Plug it in and put your Apple accessories on it – you should be good to go.
The Woruda 3-in-1 has strong magnets that hold my iPhone 15 Pro and Apple Watch Series 4 firmly in place. The iPhone can be rotated to either portrait or landscape mode when coupled to the Woruda’s magnetic base. I tested the strength of the Woruda’s magnets using an iPhone, both with and without a protective case, and found them to hold the iPhone very well.
I did not measure charging speed when testing the Woruda 3-in-1 wireless magnetic charger, but it seemed to charge my iPhone reasonably fast. (I charge my Apple Watch and AirPods overnight.)
All in all, the Woruda 3-in-1 charger works as advertised. It has an excellent build quality, looks great on my desk, and charges my Apple accessories without any issue whatsoever. And it keeps my desk looking tidy, without a bunch of unsightly cables dangling around.
Would I recommend this charger to others? Absolutely.
