Excellent Sites for the Discerning Mac User

Below are three sites that I visit on a regular basis. I visit them so regularly that they’ve occupied a permanent spot in my web browsing muscle memory. These sites are my must-read sites for quality, well-written content with a focus on Apple hardware and software.

The Sweet Setup: curated by Shawn Blanc, whose self-titled blog is also equally excellent. The Sweet Setup focuses on spotlighting the very best in class apps for Mac, iPad and iPhone. It’s well organized, easy to navigate and well designed. Periodically, the site also posts sweet Mac setups from some of the most interesting and eclectic Mac users around the world.

MinimalMac: curated by Patrick Rhone. Refreshing is the best word I can use to describe MinimalMac. It’s a different Mac blog than most, in that it advocates a “less is more” philosophy – in both technology and life. MinimalMac’s content is good whether or not you are a Mac user, but if you happen to be one, you’re going to enjoy it that much more.

DaringFireball: John Gruber’s site is simple, but straightforward. There are no gimmicks – just quality, thought-provoking commentary on all things Apple. John’s got a firm beat on the pulse of technology and isn’t afraid to pull his punches. Plus, he’s a fellow Bond aficionado. That gives him an extra star in my book.

If I had to pick only three Mac sites to follow, these would be it.
