Looking to flex your drawing muscles? Tired of drawing the same old thing? Looking for inspiration? Want to discover and follow some amazing artists?
Sketch Dailies might be the cure for what ails you. Sketch Dailies is an online community of sorts. Here’s how it works: follow Sketch Dailies on Twitter, Instagram or on Facebook. Every day, around noonish (eastern standard time) a new sketch topic is posted. Previous topics have included such diverse subjects such as Mr. T, Ultra Man, Jem, the three blind mice, and Beetlejuice.
To participate, simply draw up your sketch and post it to Facebook or Twitter with the hashtag sketch_dailies and you’re good to go. While I’m not a regular participant, I do my best to get a few sketches in each week. There’s no time limit – but generally people have their drawings created within a day or three of the topic being posted.
Sketch Dailies is a fun exercise and really helps me step outside of my comfort zone. All ages and skill levels are allowed to participate. And thanks to the hashtag, you can easily view sketch entries from other participating artists. There are about 13.5K followers of Sketch Dailies on Twitter alone.
