I’ve started the download – expect my review in about a week or so, once I’ve put the big cat through it’s paces. In the meantime, check out Shawn Blanc’s excellent review. I’ve been following Shawn’s blog for quite some time now – it’s one of my trusted resources for Mac reviews and tech industry opinions. Another, much more in-depth review, by John Siracusa, can be found at Ars Technica. Contrary to popular belief, you can perform a clean install of Lion by making a custom Lion boot disc.
Here are apps that I have been able to successfully open with Lion:
Corel Painter X
Sketchbook Pro 2011
Photoshop CS5
Bridge CS5
Manga Studio Pro EX 4
I’ll put these apps through the paces, with Lion, to see if there are any issues.
Have you installed Lion? What’s your verdict? Share your comments below.

July 20, 2011 at 3:18 pmOn the weight of this post I went ahead and hit the upgrade button. My main concern was Photoshop CS5 (which is my work horse) and Manga Studio Pro (which I’m currently learning to use). As long as those work and I can still get a browser open everything else should be fine.
I’m looking forward to your official review.
