The UP! Fair is a GO!

Thanks in part to generous reader donations and book purchases, I will be going to the UP! Fair in Lexington, KY. Total funds raised was $289, which I will use towards the purchase of an airline ticket to attend the show. I would like to sincerely thank everyone who has helped me out over the last few months. Whether you purchased a book or a limited edition print, provided a donation, or even retweeted my fund raising efforts, you have helped me out immeasurably. Because of your generosity and encouragement, I am now able to make it to two fantastic conventions which are, at their heart and soul, about celebrating and making independent comics.

Next week, as you know, is Intervention – held in Rockville, Maryland. I’m flying out after work this coming Friday and should arrive just in time for the late evening festivities. On Saturday, I’ll be tabling and participating on a few panels. I’ll have lots of books, sketches, special Intervention-only discounts and high fives to go around. I leave back for home early Sunday afternoon.

If you’re in the DC / Rockville / Baltimore area and want to meet up, Saturday’s the day to do it. There will be a huge calvacade of indie cartoonists representing at the show. I think it’s going to be a GREAT time for readers and fellow cartoonists alike. Saturday evening, I’m hoping to meet up with Jerzy, Mark Rudolph and Sara Turner (all Art & Story hosts) and anyone else who wants to hang out.

Thanks again, dear readers, for your encouragement, support, and all-round awesomeness. I am truly humbled by your generosity.

Sincerely,

-Krishna

Please please please with an extra hard drive on top write a note or two about Intervention when you return. I just learned about it and have seen several of my fav webcomic artists are attending. Sadly, I made other plans that weekend but I’m really interested in the “feel” of that show and how it turns out. Hope it is a huge success for you! (:

Tell me what you think!
