Every year at Siggraph, from what I’ve been told, Pixar gives away a commemorative limited edition teapot at their booth. Today I received mine, courtesy of one of my students. I’m not sure if the other teapots were wind-up, like this one was…
Here are a few photos:
Only 4000 were made, and it came with its own custom metal box along with its limited edition number (mine was 3374). What a great keepsake. Thanks, Marcus!

August 10, 2009 at 3:54 amI stood in line 2 different days to get a chrome one for my daughter and myself. The last day, Pixar gave out an “ultra rare” (their words), black teapot with chrome glasses to whoever could get a question correct from their 30 minute presentation. I answered it correctly and won it right off. The funny thing is, they question didn’t have anything to do with the presentation of Renderman at all, it was regarding the teapot’s serial number. Being in college makes me pay attention to that stuff I guess. : )
