This past Tuesday, I placed an order for two items from Amazon.com. On Black Friday, the prices on both items dropped. Needless to say, I was slightly miffed.
Now, as of September 1, 2008, Amazon stopped issuing such price refunds (a poor move, I think – especially given how often their prices fluctuate). I wasn’t aware of this recent policy change when I called. (Some recent Googling on my part quickly confirmed that the policy change, was in fact, true.)
I dialed 1-800-201-7575 and hit ‘7’ to talk to a live person. A few minutes later, the customer service rep came back saying he could do a one-time refund on the price difference. I suspect that this was an exception, and I’m very lucky and thankful that Amazon gave me my refund.
So… what are those two items I ordered last week? You’ll just have to wait and see…
