Guest-Star: Harold Bright

Hollie Rockwell found the perfect gift for her husband, Harold – his very own guest-star PCW comic.

Hey Krishna,

I actually just discovered your toon this week. My husband is a friend of Andrew Maxim’s, and we’ve been following his new blog. He mentions your site in his most recent post. I don’t know if Andrew is a friend of yours, or if you just featured him in one of your strips because he asked (like I’m doing), but just thought I’d give a shout out as to where I found you.

The guest star appearance is for my husband, Harold Bright, though you can throw me in there if it helps the story (not necessary, though). We’re both big geeks, and I think he’ll get a kick out of being in his own comic (he’s fairly big into comics, too).

Harold is a Network Engineer (MS), and has become frustrated with his field, especially the lack of regard [I.T. folks get]… from the “important people” who do “important work”. Salesmen, mortgage brokers, people that think their useless Master’s degrees give them license to treat other people like dirt, that sort of thing. People who insist he drop everything and handle their small problem right now, because they are Very Important People with Very Important Work. Nothing new in IT, but it’s been a hot issue for him recently.

Thanks, Krishna! Your comics are hilarious, btw, and I can definitely relate (as can Harold).

Thanks, Hollie! Hope Harold enjoys his guest-star toon!

I had no idea that Hollie had requested a guest star appearance for Harold, but the moment I saw the strip, before reading a word balloon or scrolling down to the entry, I knew it was him. Great job on not only capturing his likeness in the strip but also presenting the all too often seen “gripe” of anyone in the IT field. Mostly, as you have done so often with your strips, thank you for making me laugh first thing in the morning. Wonderful job Krishna.

Heh. At this point, I’m used to the CEO calling to have me add all his CDs to his iTunes library. Obviously that’s more important than keeping the equipment running.

I discovered your toons through BBSpot and I love your drawing skills. Could you let me have some tips, particularly because I love drawing web comics myself. You could check mine out at my website. I call my toons “Geeky and Meeky” and it’s also based on techie humour.
