Pencils are up for now – inks and colors will happen later today. The buzz this time around was how the Super Bowl was streamed live on the Internet for the first time. Normally, I’d avoid potty humor, but I think this time it fits.
Enjoy!

I’ve championed the usage of solid state drives since I purchased my first Other World Computing SSD over a year ago. Since then, I’ve added another one to my Macbook Pro, and I haven’t looked back. Both machines are now 4 years old, but they’re still running like new machines.
I haven’t fully left platter based drives – they serve to hold the bulk of my data files; they also act functional back-up drives. Have you made the switch to SSDs yet? Do you plan to make the move soon? Drop your feedback in the comments below!
Update:
Here’s a video clip of me inking panel 4.

Phil Cooke’s recent article, entitled “Is the Lack of Boredom Killing Our Creativity”, got me thinking. It expresses the same concern I have with all the distractions we surround ourselves throughout the day. Our attention spans are shorter than ever, and that means less time to truly focus.
A quote from Phil’s article says it all:
There are more cell phones and TV sets in America than we have people, so now we have a television in every room in the house and our phones help if there’s no TV. There’s literally no downtime anymore. No time for well, just thinking or daydreaming.
The pace of life has only gotten faster. There are more distractions to keep us occupied, and there is an entire generation out there that doesn’t know what it’s like to ever be bored. Sad, isn’t it?

Did you see the bonus strip posted on Sunday? Or the new UNcubed comic I added on Saturday? Go check ‘em out, if you haven’t already.
There were several updates this weekend, including PC Weenies Vintage, where I’m posting all the very early PC Weenies comics from 1998 – 2007. The winner of the print edition of PC Weenies: Rebootus Maximus will be announced later this afternoon.
NOTE: Once all the first printings of “Rebootus Maximus” are all sold out there will be no more printings! (I’m concentrating my printing efforts on PC Weenies Book 2.) So don’t wait – order yours today!
As always, thanks for sharing today’s toon with your coworkers, family and friends!
Stay ‘tooned!

The Internet old conundrum:
So you create multiple, different passwords for each site that you visit, like the security experts advise. Okay, fine. But outside of writing it down (and potentially having your list compromised), how do you begin to remember all your passwords?

P.S. Here are the pencil sketches used for today’s comic:
This week’s illustration features the main cast and crew tooling around in one Grampa’s beat-up pickup trucks. I’ll be inking this piece for a reader (as part of his Artist Edition order of Rebootus Maximus).
Check back here later this week for the inks and colors (and maybe a surprise or two). ;)
Update: Here’s the process work for this piece:
digital pencils in Sketchbook Pro:
Inks in Manga Studio Pro EX 4:
Anyone want to see this one on a poster?

At long last, a dangling story thread is connected. Hope you’ve enjoyed the story arc so far. I’m curious to know your thoughts.
After today’s strip, I’ll return to more topical tech ‘toons for a while, before we pick up once again where we left off.
New here? Here’s a good place to start:
Big Spender (aka the Nigerian connection storyline)
To navigate through the storylines without interruption, simply click on “What Happened Before…” and “What Happens Next” navigation buttons on any comic strip that is tagged as “The Story”.

It’s nice to know that money hasn’t completely changed Grampa. ;)
