A brief, but spicy look at an incident from my grad school days surfaces in today’s UNcubed comic.

Before we re-embark on the current Footle storyline, may I present to you a slight detour with today’s guest-star strip?
Today’s comic features self-avowed PCW fan Jarmo Hanninen, who lives in Finland. (And for the record, I’ve drawn strips for guest-stars hailing from across the Atlantic, namely Italy, Germany, Israel, and England. I’ve even received a guest-strip written and drawn by some talented guy who lives in Sweden.)
The number of US guest-stars still outnumber our overseas counterparts, but I have a feeling that our international friends may change that soon… (Hint! Hint!) :)
Anyway, I digress…
Jarmo had two requirements for his guest-star appearance: somehow both Finland and coffee had to be in the strip. The challenge was quickly accepted and the result you now see before you.
And, for those of you who are interested, Jarmo’s webcomic can be found at Finn-Strip.
Jarmo’s avatar will soon appear on the Featured Guest-Star list for 2009. And the guest-star list from 2008 is also available for your perusal.
Will you be next?

A new strip will be posted tomorrow, featuring a brand new Guest-Star. In the meantime, enjoy this double-blast from my single-panel past!

Have you ever been through a technical interview? If so, what was the toughest question you’ve been asked? What was the dumbest question you’ve been asked?
Maybe you’re on the flip side. Do you conduct technical interviews? Share your anecdotes and technical interview stories in the comments below. (and comments on the ‘toon, too) ;)

Some comics you have to dig through to see if they’re good. No need with Comic Book Comics: Our Artists At War! The cover features a wild image of a giant flaming comic book smashing a military blimp and crushing tanks as desperate gunners look up and at the reader. ↓ Read the rest of this entry…
