Egypt is the first country to have its Internet completely shutdown, by order of the current ruling regime. The Egyptian government rationale has only fueled the backlash from the Egyptian populous.
Let’s hope that there is a resolution coming soon, and a peaceful one at that.

Today’s comic, by cartoonist Marc Lapierre (of Spooky Doofus fame) really struck a chord with me. I was introduced to the Angry Birds game in December, when my brother-in-law showed it to me on his iPhone. I’d heard a lot about the game before, but after playing Angry Birds for the first time, I knew I had to buy it.
I’m at the “Why Can’t I Get Past this Level?” stage – having only made it up to level 1-15. My 3 year old daughter Sonia has already taken to the game as well. She loves seeing the “piggies” get smashed.
Brilliant ‘toon, Marc!
Check out Marc’s webcomic, Spooky Doofus, and his incredibly cool classic monster sketches on his blog. I particularly love his rendition of Krampus, but he also draws a scary version of Grover that I really get a kick out of.
If you’ve played Angry Birds, can you relate to Bob in today’s strip? What level have you made it up to? Sound off in the comments below!

Another round of guest-strips continue this week, as the move to our new home continues behind-the-scenes.
Today’s strip comes courtesy of the very talented Eddie Betancourt! I’ve had the privilege of having Eddie in a few of my courses, and it’s an honor for me to showcase his work on the site. Take a look at one of his recent animation pencil tests!
Thanks again for the terrific guest-strip, Eddie!

Guess who’s back? After a long, long absence, Oreville – Bob’s one and only friend is back. The seeds of this reunion were planted a long time ago.
Recommended reading to catch up: Bob and Oreville’s downfall. Read through from that strip onwards to witness the event Officer Hamphister is referring to.
Enjoy!

Update: Bob’s dialogue was revised in Panel 4. Take a look!
Update 2: Final version is now up. Coming up with the proper punchline for this one was a toughie. I’m happy with Bob’s line now.
Friday’s toon (the very next one) will be my last, at least for a month. I’m taking a break. We’re moving to a new house in mid-January so I have to put the comic on a slight hiatus until February 1st. This will be the first big break I’ve had from the comic in 12 years…
Check back in from time to time, there may be a few surprises…
Thanks for your patience!

Colors will happen later this evening now posted! Hope you dig the new look of the PCW website.
If it’s slow at work, why not catch up on the entire storyline?
Enjoy!

As a grad student, you’re usually the lowest on the academic food chain. One particular incident came to my mind when I was an EE grad student:
I remember a college professor of mine stopping in to find out if I was doing anything the next day. “No,” I blurted. “Good, because you’re teaching my Circuits class tomorrow.”
Lesson learned.
