Uptime Downtime

Uptime is defined as how long a computer has been running without any downtime. In some geek circles, an incredibly long uptime is a status worthy of bragging rights. Don’t believe me? All you have to do is search longest uptime to run into the whole subculture.

There are pages and pages of uptime queries on the ‘net.

So… given today’s comic: what’s your computer’s longest uptime? ;)

My longest up time would have to be about 7-9 days. All depends on if I need to move it.

13 day, 14 hours on my laptop, less than an hour each on my two G4 desktops, and the Mini hooked up to my HDTV is currently only at 4 days because of me finally getting around to applying an update. The Mini and my laptop only get rebooted for updates, otherwise, their always on (but sometimes asleep in the case of the laptop).

Had a friend who was using an 8600/350 (hacked) running OS X 10.2 (hacked) as a router and I know at one point it had an uptime of over a year.
