Humans were not meant to sit in front of their computers at work all day. Discuss.
Sitting at a desk, however, is a very good way to use the one resource we can’t get from any other creature: Intellect. It’s harder to think when physically exerting oneself, so sitting at a desk allows people to use their brains more.
Not that any of it is actually helping – at least according to my scale – but i try to take two 10 minute walks a day & I go to the gym near my office during my lunch hour and work out for 30-45 minutes for four days a week.
I find walking to be unhelpful in losing weight, but useful for having strength. What does help is biking for about 6 miles on hilly terrain (full gear shifting, of course) and pushing myself. Then, at the other end, only having water until I have completely forgotten the ordeal of the biking, and only then eating. Eat as much as you’d eat if you’d drive, and you’ll do fine. Also, 3 meals a day has worked wonders.
