Review: Etekcity GET Connected one foot extension cables

Here’s the scenario. You have a surge protector. It has big power bricks from other devices attached to it. You know the ones I’m talking about? The rude power bricks that hog up some of your beloved surge protector’s ports, rendering them useless. So what’s a person to do?

If you’re like me, you complain at the short sightedness on the part of the gadget maker for using such a big, bulky power brick.

And complain I did, until I came across a very cool product from Etekcity that solves my problem.

It’s simple enough. Etekcity sells ten 1 foot long male to female power cables, bundled in an attractive, Apple-esque box. Inside the box, you’ll find 10 16AWG (American Wire Gauge) cables, rated for 125v/13A. Each cable is made for indoor use only, and UL certified with a lifetime guarantee.

How does it work? Easy. First plug the female side to your device. Then plug the male side to your power outlet or surge protector. Voila! No more space hogging power bricks. The Etekcity cables have good build quality and are small enough to keep your cable clutter to a minimum.

A 10-pack bundle will set you back $17 on Amazon. It’s a deal, especially if you have a limited number of outlets (ports) and lots of space hogging power bricks.

The Etekcity cables earn 5 out of 5 Bob Weiners.

    Found one slightly better. Same short adapter cord but the cord comes out the side of the male end and has a female on the back so you get the power brick out of the way and can still use the outlet for something else. Unfortunately I don’t remember where I bought them.

      Cool. I’m trying to picture the adaptor. Is there a photo online I could look at, Jim?

    Or, you could just use something like this;
    (UK plugs, but I’m sure the US must have something similar!
