Today, I scored a beautiful plexiglass section for my newly acquired animation desk – for the whopping price of $5.00 at Lowe’s. How’d I get the plexiglass so cheap? It turns out there was a scrap that was roughly 1″ larger than the dimensions I was looking for. The folks at Lowe’s couldn’t sell it new, so they asked if I’d be interested in taking it off their hands for 5 bucks.
Heck yeah!
Talk about being at the right place at the right time :)
The “new” desk is set up in my studio now. The total cost out of pocket to bring this desk back to “like new” state was under $9, including the cost for the fine grain sandpaper I purchased to smooth out the surface.

The desk looks great, and I can’t wait to use it!

Update: a few desk accessories, drawn years ago by my cartooning buddy Bill Charbonneau. I consider the drawing on the left a constant reminder, while the one on my right amuses me to no end. :)
