I’ve been looking for a world map (that can be updated with tags) I can embed on my website, for the purpose of charting “Rebootus Maximus” orders from around the world. I think it would be a neat visual, and I’m hoping something like this already exists.
Any suggestions? I’ve tried searching around (in vain). Maybe a kind reader can point me to a good source.

Ummm… Google Maps + KML ? It is quite straightforward solution last time I’ve checked.
Try Openlayers; it’s probably your best option.
It can use imagery from Bing, Google or NASA (the later is completelly free also for commercial use)

and check the examples.
