I plan on shuttering my Facebook account for good on June 1st. I’m tired of the interface changes. I’m tired of social networks. I’m tired of having to read the fine print on Facebook’s ever-changing privacy policy. So, on June 1st, I will bid my account farewell for good.

Sure, I’m a bit fed up with the smoke and mirrors called Facebook as well. But I’m not fed up with social networks, only with one of them. I’ll keep my social network of real-world friends and acquaintances.

We could also call June 1 “World-wide Kick-Mark-Zuckerberg-In-The-Groin day,” (think of R.J. Fletcher in UHF, who was kicked in the groin by a grandma for being such a meanie).
