Boy, don’t I know it… I’ve written a bit of technical documentation in the past with no obvious sign that anyone read it.
On the other hand, I worked with a tech writer who didn’t even read her own stuff… Once a few weeks after I walked her through (i.e. mostly dictated) writing a technical article on how to map a drive in Windows she had some problem with her computer. Me and another guy said “well, map your drive so we can look at it” and she said “tell me how to do that.” We pointed out “you wrote the instructions!” but she said she couldn’t read it and understand it…
