It only itched when I first grew it, not once since, and I've had it since 1979. No one knows what I look like without, including my wife. I have incredibly sensitive skin, so shaving is hell. You should stick with it. Oh and if you decide to shave it, you must have fun with it, in the process turn it into a chin beard, mutton chops, handle bar mustache (i did this and my friend was convinced i was drunk when i did it).
