In addition to trying to decide what version to buy and hardware to upgrade, I'd rather not figure out which XP apps I use that would be busted by going to Home Premium. To me, it's just Vista with a face lift. WindowBlinds is cheaper, and I can do more with the interface. Compare it to my upgrade path to Snow Leopard, $49 (family pack). As much as I detest Apple dictating what I want in my Macs, I do like not having a headache when I upgrade. I wouldn’t touch Home Premium because it doesn’t have XP compatiblity mode.
