Those of you who follow me on Twitter know that I’m in Sacramento, California for the next few days to attend my sister’s graduation.
The trip, for the most part, was uneventful. The Tampa-Denver leg was pleasant, and seemed to go by at a decent clip. I had a nearly three hour layover in Denver last night, but thankfully had free wi-fi to keep me sane occupied.
The Denver-Sacramento leg of the flight was interesting, to say the least. The stewardesses had a great sense of humor, making the routine “briefing” and cabin chatter interesting and worth paying attention to, i.e. “Smoking in the lavatory is prohibited and releases the hidden trap door.”
The flight was full. Coach seats seem to be getting smaller every year. To make matters worse, I was sitting next to a person who:
- was too big for their seat, pushing me practically into the aisle
- had an extreme cold and did nothing to contain it
- swore constantly
I arrived at the Sacramento International Airport around 2AM EST and met my parents and sister. I settled into sleep around 3AM – but couldn’t really sleep. Maybe it was excitement at being in California, or maybe it was the fact that I wasn’t used to the bed. Probably a little bit of both.
Graduation is tomorrow morning. Today we’re taking it easy. We’ll be checking out my sister’s school and heading down to San Francisco for dinner. I’ll try to post some photos…
